done

December 26 takes me back to "normal" and I am so glad to be here. I could live the rest of my life without anymore hyper situations and /or events. First thing this morning, out of my kitchen window, was a little winter bird nibbling on a seed pod at the end of a branch on the Drake Elm - what a lovely and welcome sight.

This is why I post:

Seeing (5/4/08 - 2/18/12) There they were, as I walked along the sidewalk that time and drought had lifted and cracked, the first fireflies of summer. They were scattered throughout the dark woods and at the very moment I saw their iridescent magic. I watched as they blinked and I forgot, for a moment, all that might have been wrong and remembered, instead, all that was right.There should be a place somewhere in our lives that encourages us to reflect and to appreciate the extraordinary gifts of nature, along with the ordinary things that make up our lives. The more time passes, the more I understand how important it is to take notice of all the simple things that are woven into my day. I hope to continue to discover and, with this blog, share those things that are close to the Earth and there for us always, while we are busy looking somewhere else.

Saying (2/19/12 - ongoing)

I think today is the day things will change here on "sketches of my day". I started this blog to showcase positives in my day, a place that combatted the negativities we are constantly bombarded with and instead became a place where the sun shines all the time. Well, I am changing a bit, I want to just write with complete honesty instead –" sketches of my day " will be just that, snapshots from the day, real ones, – I don’t do this to be egotistical; I do it to be helpful. I know that it is always a good thing to read about others and identify with their situations and then take what you need for your own life – that’s networking and sharing. I suppose it may seem a bit narcissistic but it isn’t – I just like to write and I feel that if I didn’t write or paint I’d go crazy – I must and this blog is such a great place for me because I can just throw it out there and someone may or may not read it and if they do they may be inspired by it – it’s a winning deal. So, with all of that proclaimed, I will begin again with this collection of thoughts, consequent words and a scattering of paintings to share the sketches of my day… pam shensky
