where?

I want to find time to read more – historical books about people and food and the earth. Winter is nearly gone; maybe it will be summer reading. It has to be winter or summer; spring and fall are too busy in the garden and the yard. I think I would find everything in my life to be deeper and more powerful if I read about its history – origins, birth, beginnings, foundations. It seems everything and everyone is constantly evolving, never really arriving or getting “there” but everyone and everything has been “there” and that “there” is tangible and I can learn from it – everything else is speculation.

I found this random quote and I do not know who coined it (so sorry);I kinda like it:

“If you advance with confidence in the direction of your dreams, and begin to live the life you imagine, you’ll meet with success beyond your wildest imagination.” Cool

Now, don’t substitute the word “success” with “money” – not the same thing, totally different stuff, not even close…

This might be kinda fun for you to take. It is certainly not professional or precise but I found out that I do have somewhat of left brain functioning ability!! I am dominant right brain, but I have managed to navigate through 56 years of life somewhat safely.

This is why I post:

Seeing (5/4/08 - 2/18/12) There they were, as I walked along the sidewalk that time and drought had lifted and cracked, the first fireflies of summer. They were scattered throughout the dark woods and at the very moment I saw their iridescent magic. I watched as they blinked and I forgot, for a moment, all that might have been wrong and remembered, instead, all that was right.There should be a place somewhere in our lives that encourages us to reflect and to appreciate the extraordinary gifts of nature, along with the ordinary things that make up our lives. The more time passes, the more I understand how important it is to take notice of all the simple things that are woven into my day. I hope to continue to discover and, with this blog, share those things that are close to the Earth and there for us always, while we are busy looking somewhere else.

Saying (2/19/12 - ongoing)

I think today is the day things will change here on "sketches of my day". I started this blog to showcase positives in my day, a place that combatted the negativities we are constantly bombarded with and instead became a place where the sun shines all the time. Well, I am changing a bit, I want to just write with complete honesty instead –" sketches of my day " will be just that, snapshots from the day, real ones, – I don’t do this to be egotistical; I do it to be helpful. I know that it is always a good thing to read about others and identify with their situations and then take what you need for your own life – that’s networking and sharing. I suppose it may seem a bit narcissistic but it isn’t – I just like to write and I feel that if I didn’t write or paint I’d go crazy – I must and this blog is such a great place for me because I can just throw it out there and someone may or may not read it and if they do they may be inspired by it – it’s a winning deal. So, with all of that proclaimed, I will begin again with this collection of thoughts, consequent words and a scattering of paintings to share the sketches of my day… pam shensky
